At Plaskoff Design Group we offer interior design services that are closely coordinated with our chief architect and with the Plaskoff construction team. The first phase of services consists of space planning, electrical plans, lighting, windows, flooring, custom cabinetry, appliances, plumbing fixtures, and hardware selection, such as doorknobs and hinges. Personalized kitchens, wine cellars, bars, game rooms, master baths, spas and home theaters are all carefully thought out according to the parameters of the owners. If the client wants it, we also incorporate home automation technology, which may include lighting, audio/visual, keyless entry and security systems.

Decorating constitutes the second phase of services we offer. This includes custom furniture, furniture and fabric selection, bedding, window treatments, art work, rugs and accessories. Basically anything we need to finish out a project after construction. In addition, we also design creative and interesting outdoor living spaces that can include outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, and covered spaces with television, lighting and sound.

Our design philosophy is client focused, with a strong belief that every interior should be an appropriate reflection of the client’s needs, lifestyle and budget. Designing an interior is an opportunity to create spaces that speak about the owner in tangible ways by invoking a strong sense of place, style and depth of character. Our breadth of experience ranges from traditional to Asian to contemporary genres. Regardless of style, it must be balanced and fit the particular needs of each client. With each project, we try to push form and function in aesthetically pleasing ways and apply that to whatever style a client wants.

Award winning designer Pegi Miller joined Plaskoff Design Group in 2005 as Director of Design. She has worked closely with Matt Plaskoff on several projects since 2003. Prior to joining PDG she headed iMi Design, a Los Angeles based interior design firm specializing in custom residential and corporate interiors, which she co-founded in 2002. During her 16 year career Pegi has successfully worked in Chicago and Los Angeles, establishing a distinguished reputation for remodeling and designing interiors for residential and commercial properties. At PDG Pegi works closely with Chief Architect John Himes and believes that the best design is the result of a collaborative team effort. She embraces the Plaskoff design-build philosophy and appreciates the focus on client satisfaction and striving for excellence that the company exemplifies.

Pegi bases her success on what she calls “designing for the client.” She takes great care in articulating the client’s needs, wants and desires and enjoys the challenge of executing projects which are functional and beautiful, while maintaining the client’s wish list. She gets her inspiration from a variety of sources, including travel, books, media and life in general. Her philosophy has allowed her to work with many different styles and genres for a diverse clientele, including Virgin Records U.S. co-founder Jordan Harris, football legend Marcus Allen, music producer and artist Dr. Dre, Body Shop founder Anita Roddick, and actor and film producer Kirk Douglas.

Pegi was born and raised outside of Chicago, Illinois. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design with an emphasis in architecture and painting from Iowa State University, home to one of the top-ranked design programs in the country. Pegi has been honored by the National Home Furnishings League and the International Furnishings and Design Association. Her projects have appeared in Architectural Digest, Robb Report Home Entertainment & Design, Audio/Video Interiors and Santa Barbara Magazine. Her design work and paintings have been featured at the New York Design Center and the Brunnier Gallery and Museum. Pegi enjoys entertaining, gardening and cooking, and spending leisure time with her husband Dex and new baby boy Aidan.

The Plaskoff Design Group provides complete architectural, engineering, and interior design services. With each project we take a fresh approach and focus on helping the client define his or her vision and design parameters. The design process starts with the client – their dreams, concepts, needs and budget. It’s important to us to develop a close collaboration with each client to get an understanding of who they are and what they want. We carefully consider the client’s specific requirements, ideas and programmatic elements. In every project we strive to achieve the ideal balance of budgetary needs, site requirements, parameters set by the client, and quality.

There is a constant collaborative team effort on many decisions between the chief architect and the director of design so that the architecture and interior design are integrated together. We push the envelope as much as we can, striving to achieve the maximum amount of quality and detail as the budget allows. We enjoy the challenge of imparting as much uniqueness to a space as possible, given the budgetary restrictions, while striving for quality features and materials. Our office uses the latest design tools and visual aids, including computer aided design, CAD 3D rendering, architectural drawings, sketches and modeling. We also consult an extensive library of tear sheets and pictures to assist clients in conceptualizing their project.
