Matt Plaskoff is the spirited founder and president of Plaskoff Construction, a Southern California based leader in luxury custom home building, residential remodeling, and design-build construction. Matt’s passion for architecture and design, and his love of things timeless and beautiful, inspired him to create a construction company that provides the whole package, offering clients a one-stop place to turn their concept into reality. His constant striving to streamline the entire construction process and his dedication to total client satisfaction has earned the company its outstanding reputation and award winning success. Matt is also the owner of the very successful One Week Bath Company and has become somewhat of a celebrity due to his long-term affiliation as a consultant with ABC’s highly rated show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

In 2005, Matt established the Plaskoff Design Group with the goal of providing in-house architectural and interior design services all under one roof in order to offer clients the utmost in service. Matt believes strongly in his company’s design-build model, which enables a client to come to a single company and get everything they need – from design to construction to decorating – in order to build their dream house or remodeling project. Matt is dedicated to making himself and his staff available to his clients and to building close working relationships with each one. He gets excited about making people’s dreams come true by changing their living environment. His enthusiasm for his work and the integrity he embodies in the way he operates his business has led to some rewarding opportunities.

A native of Southern California, Matt earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He gained broad experience working in all facets of construction before starting his own company in 1988. Matt’s outside interests are focused on his family with his wife and three lovely daughters. Throughout his career, Matt has sponsored schools, educational initiatives, nonprofit organizations and charities. His commitment to helping those in need was exemplified when the Muscular Dystrophy Association honored him with the Humanitarian of the Year Award for his work on Extreme Makeover. Matt has received numerous other honors and professional awards and is a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.

Award winning designer Pegi Miller joined Plaskoff Design Group in 2005 as Director of Design. She has worked closely with Matt Plaskoff on several projects since 2003. Prior to joining PDG she headed iMi Design, a Los Angeles based interior design firm specializing in custom residential and corporate interiors, which she co-founded in 2002. During her 16-year career Pegi has successfully worked in Chicago and Los Angeles, establishing a distinguished reputation for remodeling and designing interiors for residential and commercial properties. At PDG Pegi works closely with Chief Architect John Himes and believes that the best design is the result of a collaborative team effort. She embraces the Plaskoff design-build philosophy and appreciates the focus on client satisfaction and striving for excellence that the company exemplifies.

Pegi bases her success on what she calls “designing for the client.” She takes great care in articulating the client’s needs, wants and desires and enjoys the challenge of executing projects, which are functional and beautiful, while maintaining the client’s wish list. She gets her inspiration from a variety of sources, including travel, books, art and life in general. Her philosophy has allowed her to work with many different styles and genres for a diverse clientele.

Pegi was born and raised outside of Chicago. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design with an emphasis in architecture and painting from Iowa State University. The National Home Furnishings League and the International Furnishings and Design Association have honored Pegi. Her projects have appeared in Architectural Digest, Robb Report Home Entertainment & Design, Audio/Video Interiors and Santa Barbara Magazine. Her design work and paintings have been featured at the New York Design Center and the Brunnier Gallery and Museum. Pegi is married with one child.

John Himes, an accomplished architect with a wide range of residential and commercial design experience, joined the Plaskoff Design Group in 2005 as Chief Architect. He has worked closely with Plaskoff Construction since 1993 on a variety of high-end residential projects in Los Angeles and Orange County. Prior to joining Plaskoff Design Group he headed his own Los Angeles based architectural design firm, which he established in 1989. During his 17-year career John has built a distinguished reputation for designing a variety of commercial, multi-family and single family residential projects. He has designed houses ranging from 600 square feet to over 18,000 square feet and has worked with a diverse clientele base.

As Chief Architect at PDG, John is responsible for all architectural and structural engineering services in collaboration with Director of Design Pegi Miller, which includes managing high-end custom residential projects from inception through construction supervision, and working closely with clients, outside consultants and the Plaskoff construction team. These projects range from kitchen remodels to large-scale single family residences. John has long been interested in how architecture affects the way we live and how unaware most people are of that fact. His designs incorporate the creative use of space and materials to enhance his clients’ home life and to connect them with the outdoors. He is motivated by the need to be creative and by the challenge that each new project presents. He enjoys the diverse range of clients he’s had the opportunity to work with and is rewarded by producing results that far exceed their expectations.

Born in Chicago, John grew up in Southern California in the San Fernando Valley. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Rhode Island School of Design and is a licensed architect in the state of California. He has designed houses in the Los Angeles area, Camarillo, Santa Barbara, Hawaii, Arizona and Mexico. John is married with two children and recently moved into a Joseph Eichler house, which he is in the process of renovating.

Matt Armato has been with Plaskoff Design Group and Plaskoff Construction since 2005.  Matt’s key role is to coordinate the design build process guiding clients from the conceptual stage of design through construction completion.  Matt began his tenure with Plaskoff Construction in the estimating and production departments prior to assuming his role as design build manager.  Prior to coming to Plaskoff Construction Matt worked in real estate development, primarily specializing in Condo Conversion properties.  Prior to that Matt was the assistant Men’s Water Polo Coach at UCLA where he spent four seasons following his own athletic career at the University.  Matt’s appreciation for custom residential design and architecture lead to the career change and Matt’s interest in the home building industry. Matt received a Bachelors degree in Economic Geography and a minor in Business Administration from UCLA in 2000.
